Tube hotel, 2013

In the middle of the Brompton Quarter, one of the wealthiest corners of London, a scaffolding store occupies an extraordinary site that is owned by Transport for London. It’s a strange, overlooked and unexpected site, a tract of extremely precious land that is in a state of limbo, caught between a history of inappropriate station development planning applications and the nimbyism of local residents. The site is located at the corner of Pelham Street and Thurloe Square, London SW7.

As a collaboration work of School of Architecture at RCA, three students teamed up together to consider this brief. Our scheme is that using TFL infrastructure at night time is able to make new entertainment and hotel system for Londoners.
