38 boxes, Beijing Design Week 2012, 2012

'38 Boxes – Ways to see Interior Design’ was an exhibition designed to explore the first year cohorts’ and faculty’s personal relationship with interior design. Each contributor was sent a short, open brief asking them to design an object that communicated their individual feelings about interior design. The brief had carried only one restriction – that result must fit in a box – sized 20 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm though allowed to expand once outside. Supported by inspiration images and text, contributed by key industry collaborators, the works reflected the exhibitor’s design personality, their soul and what they consider to be important about design. The final installation aimed to engage and provoke, make people interact, ask questions, tell stories or simply stare.
