Anti-ugly exhibition, 2013

With the nominations recently opening for the 2013 Carbuncle Cup, which awards the ugliest new buildings in the UK every year, our attention is turned to the debate on architectural quality. This exhibition tells the forgotten story of the Anti-Ugly Action Group, a society consisting of Royal College of Art teachers and students, who staged witty and effective demonstrations against postwar buildings they disapproved of during the late 1950s and early 60s.
